They chose Dingle not only for its beauty but for its spirit – a place where community matters and authenticity holds weight.
What began as a bold idea in challenging times is now one of Ireland’s most respected independent distilleries, shaped by people who live their craft with passion.

The History

T h e B e g i n n i n g o f a n I d e a

The Dingle Distillery was founded in 2012 by three friends – Oliver Hughes, Liam LaHart, and Peter Mosley – who had previously shaped Ireland’s craft beer scene.

Believing in independence, they aimed to restore whiskey to what it once was: handcrafted, aged in small batches, with patience and soul.

Founding Fathers

T h e r o o t s o f a d r e a m t h a t l i v e s o n

The Founding Fathers are the initial supporters who made the establishment of the Dingle Distillery possible in 2012.
They believed in a return to authentic Irish whiskey – handcrafted, aged in small batches, and created with respect for time and nature.
Each of their 500 casks represents courage, trust, and a love for authenticity – for the idea that quality resides not in size, but in dedication.

We are proud to be part of this community.

As guardians of one of these casks, we carry not just a piece of history, but also the values that have made Dingle great: independence, craftsmanship, and passion.
This cask connects us to the founders’ vision and to all those who believe in the true spirit of whiskey.
